How to cope better from covid-19 social distancing

The restriction measures for the coronavirus pandemic differ across the world, but no country is immune. Social distancing has meant a shutdown of travel and other leisure businesses. Eating out feels like an adrenaline stunt. And here in sunny South Africa, even booze in under lockdown. So what’s a girl to do?

If you’re like me, ordering in is a better alternative to eating out. But that’s not enough, is it? I’ve recently found myself doing odd little things to cope better. Like paging through hotel books and reading restaurants reviews and recommendations. My favourite is the 2020 Eat Out magazine. It gives the 2020 food trends and a review of 500 restaurants in the country. It looks good too, so helps to curb my visual appetite for good food. For places, it’s Barcelona: Hotels & More by Angelika Taschen. In this book, she reviews dozens of hotels for their uniqueness, quirkiness, or downright fanciness, as well as best places for drinks, tapas, exhibits and markets.

For the alcohol fix, I’ve been exploring the non-alcoholic beverage range from Woolworths. I love the cocktails. The wines, not so much!
